As someone who has always fiercely identified outside the status quo, Ian Shepard is proud to be considered an outsider artist. Although he was not formally trained, he has been a student of fine art for years.
His artistic endeavors reignited later in life, perhaps as a rebellion against his pursuits in finance and real estate. usIng digital mediums. As he continued to explore, he found great satisfaction in working through his ideas with his hands whether it be on the page or the canvas. He is perhaps most moved by the imperfections that reveal themselves, and feels that they are the true heart of the work.
His work explores some common themes, the invisible connections between things and the universe at large.
Ian's works can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the US and Europe.
